  • We made this slider ourselves because we needed something that would take a large camera with a long lens, that you could transport all over the world without breaking the bank. We designed it to run on standard scaffolding tubes with a small dolly that will take a lot of weight.

The idea is when filming abroad, you can take the dolly and two end pieces with you and obtain the scaffolding tubes on location, saving you a lot of excess baggage and enabling you to have lengths of tube for the slider that would be expensive and difficult to fly. This particular slider was used on the Oscar and BAFTA nominated film Virunga. The distance you can go with this slider is determined by the length of your scaffolding tube, and beyond that by whether you can get hold of some aluminium ladder beam to run it on. So in theory you could bridge up to 20 feet, anywhere in the world.

If you're not traveling to the ends of the world, the slider can be mounted on stands or turtle bases for a quick set up at various heights. Note that the tripod head can be over slung or under slung for low level shots.

  • Extremely versatile and suitable for cameras of any size and weight

Camera can be under slung using the Ronford F7 head to achieve straight down or low lens shots (or using any other head with the camera inverted)Works with tubes of varying diameter so tubes can be sourced locally if you are flying abroad for example

Slider can be stand or turtle base mounted via 28mm spigots attached to the end sections

Rails can be made to any length up to 20ft

Legs can be made to any length up to 6ft

Can also be supported on apple boxes

Can be rigged to any scaffold rigging (vehicle, studio lighting grid etc)

  • Example of shots using the SLV slider. Includes shot looking straight down tracking over a stream.
