Expanded Sony FE 50mm f1.2 G Master Lens Key Features:

    Outstanding Optical Performance

The advanced and intricate optical structure of the Sony FE 50mm f1.2 G Master prime lens is how this lens is able to capture faultless, ultra-high-quality images and video footage. This structure is comprised of 14 glass elements arranged into 10 groups, which includes the use of three XA (extreme aspherical) elements and a single aspherical element. Combined, these high-quality lenses provide high-resolution, clarity-rich images with edge-to-edge sharpness and accurate colour rendition. To further increase the quality that this lens can capture, Sony’s use of their Nano AR Coating II significantly reduces internal reflections that would otherwise plague your images with flare and ghosting. This coating has been specially designed, even allowing you to confidently shoot in backlit scenes e.g. landscapes or controlled studio spaces where bright light causes issues.

    Aperture Control

Right off the bat, the notion of an f1.2 aperture evokes ideas of expressive control over depth-of-field and selective focus. It does just that, and thanks to the advanced Extreme Asheperical lens elements, edge-to-edge sharpness is ensured even whilst wide open at f1.2. Of course, providing a maximum aperture of f1.2, and when used with Sony’s FE Mirrorless Cameras, such as the Sony A7 III, you’re afforded the flexibility and freedom to shooting in low-light situations and still maintain image quality and resolution. Finally, the wide f1.2, 11-bladed aperture diaphragm is able to recreate that undeniably signature G Master bokeh defocus effect, helping you create dramatic and professional images/videos.

    Lightning Fast and Accurate

For a prime lens, this is larger than others on the market but that’s not without power behind it. To drive the complex lens structure Sony has incorporated four XD (Extreme Dynamic) Linear motors which themselves feature an advanced construction that is able to provide super-fast and highly accurate autofocusing. When pairing this lens and it’s AF system with a Sony FE Mirrorless camera body makes for a formidable duo, and internal focusing ensures minimised focus breathing which makes it an incredible lens for video work, delivering smooth, fast and accurate focusing.

    The Sony G Master Range

Sony has truly redefined what a camera lens is capable of with its G Master range. The combination of high-resolution capabilities and the aesthetic of bokeh provide creators with the tools to capture stunning visuals in a variety of shooting environments. They add extensive details and texture to the frame, along with stunning bokeh – each lens is individually tested and adjusted to achieve maximum quality. In addition to this, the Sony FE 50mm f1.2 G Master Lens features a dust and moisture resistant design, which along with versatile lens barrel controls, offers your enhanced flexibility in the ways you can capture footage.
