These are very high quality diopters there is no discernible loss of resolution if you use them. They allow you to focus closer but at the expense of being able to focus at a distance (the stronger the diopter the more extreme the effect). They are particularly useful if you want to get very close shots on relatively long lenses. The advantage of this is that you can get extreme close-ups and still be able to light them. I have found that using these on lenses like the Alura 18 to 80 and the 45 to 250, you can get fantastic close-ups. You seem to have more depth of field than using lenses like the Canon 100mm macro. However you do need a professional Matte box with the circular holder to use these, they do not screw into the lens. There’s two Matt boxes that are suitable in recommended accessories.
