Sigma Cine Hire FF T1.5 PL Prime 5-lens Set

Sigma Cine Primes Compatible Cameras: Sony Venice/ F5/ F55, Arri Alexa Mini, Alexa Plus, Amira (PL), Red Epic Dragon (PL)   with Adaptor: Sony FS7, a7s II

The Sigma Cine lens set is a great option for both Full Frame and Super35 work on a mid range budget. The lenses are not only pretty light weight but fast, the 20mm – 85mm range are all T1.5 and they remain sharp if used wide open. These lenses have very low distortion which is particularly impressive on the 14mm, it has extremely low distortion even on a Full Frame camera and has a fast stop at T2. Sigma Cine Primes flare nicely and the bokeh remains circular throughout the aperture range. The best thing about the Sigma Cine Primes is that they display no discernible chromatic aberration. Even very expensive lenses have some but these are the first lenses I’ve seen that don’t appear to have any. There is a small amount of breathing, mostly at the close focus end that you wouldn’t find in Cooke S7i primes for example. However the breathing is subtle. Lenses are all about a balance of compromises, so with the Sigma Cine’s you get a light weight, reasonably priced, fast lens with no chromatic aberration but with a certain amount of breathing. There are a number of Sigma Cine Prime lens tests online but these ones are quite useful: Sigma lens test
